Well if you were reading other books as well, six months for this monster of a book is not bad! I prefer to read one book at a time because I'm a slow reader, so sometimes it takes me 1+ week to read one book--if I read multiple books at a time, I'd never finish one book in a month! (However, the book I am currently reading, David Copperfield by Dickens, is so big that I have to read a smaller book to take with me on commutes!)
Yeah, I don't like the idea of an abridged book, and normally I wouldn't consider it, but I think in this case, I will. That is, if I ever read it....
